Mosaics
Dimensional Typography Book
This typography project explores generative design using Processing, a coding language that transforms written instructions into visual patterns made of shapes, color, and repetition. Using the typeface Montserrat by Julieta Ulanovsky as the seed typeface, I created a radial composition from a single repeated letter. Rotation and layering form a mosaic-like pattern, with the same letter centered on top as a mask.

I then created a booklet to showcase the generated typography and explore the patterns and forms created through the code. The final piece highlights how small adjustments in spacing, rotation, and layering can completely transform the composition.

The Process:
I began by experimenting in Processing, adjusting rotation, spacing, and layering to explore different outcomes and refine the composition. I then drew rough thumbnails to get a general idea of what I was going for. From there, I translated the selected designs into a booklet format, focusing on layout and hierarchy to present the typography in a clear and cohesive way.
Color Palette:
The color palette creates a balance between soft and rich tones, adding depth while keeping the design cohesive. It helps guide hierarchy and supports the typography without overpowering it.
