Branding
Lantern is a collaborative project between graphic designers, financial analysts, and computer engineers. Together, we developed an application designed for career development centers primarily on college campuses to efficiently scan resumes and collect valuable data from student career events.
Lantern’s mission is to help guide students as they begin their professional journeys by providing tools that make it easier for universities to support and track career development.
The Process:
Using a technique called thumbnailing, I created quick sketches to get my ideas out and explore directions for the logo and website. Working with a team, we refined the strongest concepts, and as lead designer, I helped direct the process and develop the final branding.
Concept & Symbolism:
The graphic design team was responsible for creating the application's branding and visual identity. The logo was designed using simple geometric shapes that reflect the platform's purpose.
Typography:
The upward-facing arrow represents progress and guidance, reinforcing Lantern’s mission to help students move forward toward their future careers.
The square at the base of the mark represents a resume, symbolizing the starting point of a student’s career journey.
The typeface Montserrat Bold was selected for its clean and modern appearance. Its geometric structure complements the simple shapes of the logo while maintaining strong readability across digital platforms.

Color:
The color palette combines deep blue, soft blue-gray, and warm orange tones. The dark blue communicates professionalism and trust, while the lighter blue-gray creates a clean, modern feel suited for a technology focused application. The orange accent adds energy to the brand and symbolizes growth and
forward movement.
Final Result:
Together, these elements create a modern and approachable identity that reflects Lantern’s mission of guiding students as they take the first steps toward their future careers.
